What was the situation at Nestlé France, when Isabelle was consulted? ↓
In 2019 Nestlé France was undergoing a major transformation, following a Group wide program. This transformation required the transitioning of the Finance & Control teams’ roles and responsibilities, and led to significant turnover within the Finance team. My new team needed support to facilitate the onboarding of newcomers, and to rapidly adapt and operationalize these new requirements. A key success factor was the development of a Finance and Control Training Academy for our teams.
What type of support was needed to implement this strategy? ↓
In order to implement the changes in an efficient manner, we needed someone who could serve two roles. First, an individual with an external perspective, who could help to frame our objectives, identify the needed solutions to meet those objectives, and formalize the overall project specifications. We also needed someone to help execute the work, in this case carry out the development of effective training modules.
What skills/expertise did you expect Isabelle to bring to your project? ↓
Based on my past work with Isabelle, I knew that she had the needed experience with people development. She came to us, with 25 years of experience managing the Nestlé Waters Internal Alacarte Finance & Control Training Academy. The Academy consisted of numerous short-duration training modules, and was built and facilitated by Nestlé Finance managers across the world. In addition to addressing functional skills, these modules provided important career development opportunities for both internal trainers and participants.
This new Nestlé France project mirrored Isabelle’s previous work on many levels. I trusted Isabelle’s ability and skills to help us, given her extensive experience, her passion for this topic, and her proven ability to manage projects.
How was the consulting mission organized? ↓
In Phase 1, Isabelle provided support formalizing our project specifications and defining our objectives, targets, requirements, content, timeline and project management mode.
During Phase 2, she managed the design and development of five training modules, according to the project specifications, for either e-learnings, classroom or virtual trainings. For each training topic, she prepared and facilitated working sessions with the project team to gather input and advance our thinking. Adapted content were defined with Isabelle, then she recommended the training methods that would deliver the key messages in a clear and impactful manner. She also created the corresponding ready-to-use training material for these modules for our internal trainers.
During the last Phase, Isabelle conducted “Train the Trainer” sessions to prepare the internal trainers to deliver the trainings.
How would you summarize the value added by Isabelle on the project? ↓
Thanks to her extensive experience and skills in training, people development and project management, Isabelle helped us all the way through our project: not only did she bring valuable and actionable ideas and advice, but she put them into action in the development of effective training modules, with a pragmatic and impactful approach. Her experience in Finance and Control was also very useful, as she was familiar with the technical content of the training modules.
What are the benefits of this Academy? ↓
Luckily, we were able to launch the Finance & Control Training Academy in March 2020, right before the COVID 19 lock-down. With telecommuting in place, the e-learning modules have been extensively utilized and completed by the Nestlé France teams. Two months later, these modules were integrated into the parent Nestlé Group Finance & Control Training Academy, increasing the overall number of users across the world, and providing a good return on investment!
Would you recommend Isabelle to other companies? ↓
Absolutely!
